Happy New Year 2008

This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.

This year, today is a wonderful opportunity for a new start...
a new lease on life.

No matter how 2007 turned out for you, no matter how you assess it or define it, today is a new start, a fresh beginning.

One of the first Ah ha's of the new year can be that this attitude of renewal - of fresh starts can become a way of life. Every new day offers the same opportunity to begin anew - to make a fresh start.

How much improved will our 2008 become with such an attitude of life?

In 2008 we have the ability to define our year as 365 'new days' ... every one offering renewal and fresh starts.

This year, consider starting each day by declaring,
"This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!"

By doing so, we release what happened yesterday as the past - gone and lost as to its power over us.

Each day brings its own power for us to live in the present and 'be' all we want to be, regardless of what occurred yesterday.

My brother Tim and I were discussing last night how most of us are in the habit of looking outside of ourselves for answers, for messiahs, for the God who we pray to, for our individual power.

We seek validation in the form of stuff... things that will hopefully make us feel better and help us to believe we have some answers for the good life we want to live.

Few of us ever find any real satisfaction, out there, where we are looking.

The prestigious job doesn't do it, the big house, the new status car, the fast boat just doesn't do it - at least not for long. They don't have the ability to fill the void we have inside.

This New Year, this new day, I encourage you to look inside of yourself for the only answers which will fill the void. Realize today who you really are...You are one with the Source of the universe and everything in it.

I call this Source, God. The name is not important, the realization that you are part of God and God is part of you is what is important... that you and your Source are one.

That means all the answers, all the means, all the resources are already inside of us, waiting for us to become aware of them...waiting for us to wake up and look inside rather than outside for salvation.

This is the simple idea all the masters call 'awakening.'

When we wake up, we realize we can tap into the power and the goodness we desire by acknowledging who we are and by quiet contemplation of that truth.

Make this year, this day, the day we see the importance of sitting quietly with ourselves to look inside for everything we want and need.

Make this the year, the day, we stop running around looking outside of ourselves for what we want in our lives and begin to go inside for those answers.

Give yourself 15 - 30 minutes once or twice a day to quietly know and acknowledge who you are and that as you are 'one' with your Source... all power, all answers, all resources are yours...

then, let go of the need to make things happen... wait for the answer in the silence of yourself...

for the answer to be clear to you...

and when it becomes clear...

Act...move forward in faith knowing that all you will ever need is inside of yourself,
already one with you and your Source. Go back inside over and over and over again to renew your awareness of this truth.

Make it your new way of life.

Bless you and may you have your best year, your best day ever in 2008!
