Optimal Health Requires
A Balanced Mind, Body and Spirit
It is an accepted fact, even by the die hard "Only Proven by Scientific Study" crowd, that a positive attitude and strong foundation of spiritual awareness affects the healing process of the body. This is evidenced by the simple fact that all medical studies are required to have a control group which does not actually receive the treatment being studied. The reasoning for this is the known factor of "belief in the treatment" can alter the findings.
For the study to be accepted, the individuals involved in the study can not know whether they are in the control group or actually receiving the treatment. This fact alone should tell us that the mind and spirit have a very strong influence on health. Ask any doctor if stress, mental attitude or spiritual awareness (prayer) plays a role in healing. They will answer in the affirmative.
It also stands to reason that if the mind and spirit affect healing, then they also are powerful in the prevention of ailments before they become threatening.
With this reasoning, it is easy to see why it is so important to create a positive attitude and create a spiritual foundation. This is the most important step anyone can take to maintain or regain their health. These factors are discussed in the "Self Exploration" and "Grow and Develop" sections of our site.
The second, but just as important factor of health is what you intake. We have all heard the old but true saying, "You are what you eat". All of the building blocks the body uses to keep itself alive are the same things we ingest.
Notice the use of intake rather than eat. This is because the skin is also a large part of the intake system of the body. In a further article we will look further at just how much the skin absorbs and the importance of monitoring this just as closely as what we actually eat.
Unfortunately, in our growth of knowledge as humans, we have embraced the idea that man has the ability to improve on nature in the production of almost everything. For the most part this has been done in an effort to produce the quantity needed at the lowest cost. It is totally understandable that we have spent the most research on using synthetic chemicals to not only quicken the production, but to also keep initial cost at a level that more individuals can afford.
The sad part is that we did not have the knowledge until recently that these synthetic chemicals are causing all manners of harm. Add this to the fact that our medical establishment has evolved to a symptom based system, where the same attitude, that man made synthetic chemicals are the answer to everything and it is easy to see why the health situation is getting so overwhelming.
The only answer to our own health and the health of the environment that sustains us, is to redirect our efforts to finding ways to produce what we need more naturally and sustainable.
We, the Byrd Brothers, Albert and Tim, were lucky to find that there are many individuals willing to take the risk to build businesses that are geared to these natural and sustainable methods. They not only are finding that it is possible, they are finding that it can also be profitable.
While the initial costs are higher, the total cost of these naturally produced products are nowhere near the expense of lessened health or the environmental cleanup cost we are starting to get the check for. It is getting to the point that if we want life to continue, we are going to have to change our attitudes.
This will be discussed further in additional articles listed at the bottom of this page.
The last but not least, factor in optimal health is exercise. A good rule of thumb for exercise is that you need to increase blood flow and breath rate at least once a day. Whatever your current condition, this is a good place to start. If you will make sure that you do something that incorporates both and gradually increase the amount of exertion regularly, you will get to the point that your energy increases.
When starting an exercise regiment, care should be taken to not carry it too far, especially in the beginning. Push yourself just to the point of getting both your heart and breath rate above normal. Each time you do this, you will find that you are able to go just a little be further.
This should become a daily routine and if you keep at it, your health will improve.
To paraphrase:
Build a solid spiritual foundation in your life so that you are able to cope with everything life has in store. Practice keeping a positive mental attitude about all aspects of your life including knowing that you have the control of your own health.
Eat good nutritious food and be careful what you allow to come in contact with your skin.
Exercise daily, increasing the amount each day.
Green Revolution vs Synthetic Chemicals - Unless we want to wear chemical suits just to survive on this planet, we have got to switch to a more sustainable method of production. Join the Green Revolution, reduce usage of Synthetic Chemicals.
Your Skin and Your Health The human skin is the largest organ of the body and plays an important role in our health. It has recently been found that the skin is also the largest point of entry for toxins. Isn't it is time to stop coating it with toxic chemicals and start protecting it.
